First things first
Below are the first things (well, at least profession-oriented) things that I officially became a License Psychologist. Who knows if this is the best order or if I’m missing anything. During some professional transition phases mentorship is highly valuable. This seems to be one of those phases.
1) Get new business cards
2) Learn about malpractice insurance and sign up for it
3) Learn more about HMO panels and apply
4) Examine new employment opportunities
5) Take Clinical Supervision class (online)
4) Find private practice location
5) Take next steps into private practice entrepreneurship
So that’s my list in no particular order (of course some things are better to do before others). #5 is my biggest challenge. I’ll be discussing that more here in the weeks and months to come.

i just remembered your blog. i’m excited to read it. it’s been a little while since you posted this but i just discovered the alumni section of the wright’s website (where i’m applying) and they have what seems to be a fairly helpful resource page for new psychologists. http://www.wrightinst.edu/alumni/online.html …might be of assistance? i am taking 2 online courses (neuropsych & human dev) and i wish i had some psychologist friends around to muse over the millions of thoughts flying through my mind these days. look forward to hearing more about what’s flying around your head some time soon! xo
